The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, and the majority of the bolts on seaside cliffs consist of glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. Nevertheless, it is crucial to remain vigilant as climbing by the coast can be particularly hazardous, and it is advisable to consult the guidebooks for information on re-bolting dates. Given the high humidity during winters, some attention is also directed towards removing moss from certain routes in the spring, so please assist when possible (while ensuring no harm comes to any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so although there are bolted cracks in some older areas, modern crags always allow for trad climbing.
Overall, most local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in specific areas.
