The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, with most bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. Nevertheless, always remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and consult guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Given the high humidity during winters, some work is also done in spring to remove moss from certain routes, so please contribute when you can (without harming any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, meaning that while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, modern crags always allow for trad climbing.
Overall, the majority of local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in specific areas.
