The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensure the safety of coastal climbing, with most bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. Nevertheless, always remain vigilant as climbing by the coast can be particularly hazardous, and consult the guidebooks for information on re-bolting dates. Due to the humid winters, some work is also done in spring to remove moss from certain routes, so please help out when you can (without harming any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, modern crags typically allow for trad climbing.
In general, the majority of local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in specific locations.
