Description
Peron Baltoro is located in an old machine tooling building near the central Rzeszów railway station. While the gym is relatively small, it still packs lots of possibilities and can be full of visitors in peak hours on the weekend.
The gym has a bouldering wall, a training area, a weightlifting room, a drytooling room, and many commodities.
The bouldering wall is 4.5-5m tall, overall having about 300 meters squared of area. There is a section for kids. The climbs which are graded use the Fontainebleau grading system, but many stay without a grade tag. All four starting points of a given boulder are usually marked with tape. Competitions are hosted regularly here, so you may find routes marked by a simple number on a black plastic circle instead of actual grading. The walls are slippery, so flagging and palming possibilities are limited.
The exercise area is located in the same room as the bouldering area. There is a big overhanging spray wall, multiple campus boards, hangboards, calisthenics equipment, and other items useful for warming up and exercising. There is also additional mattraces to better cushion the fall while climbing.
The small weightlifting area is located in a separate room.
To reach the drytooling room, go past the weightlifting area. You should ask staff for permission before climbing there.
Besides the regular locker room, toilets, and shower, there is also a sauna. It takes long to heat it up, so ask in advance!
