The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, with most of the bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. However, always remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and consult the guidebooks for information on re-bolting dates. Given the high humidity during winters, some attention is also given to removing moss from certain routes in the spring, so please contribute when you can (without harming any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, modern crags consistently allow for trad climbing.
Overall, the majority of local climbers are open to sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in specific areas.
