The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensure the safety of coastal climbing, with most of the bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. However, it is crucial to remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and it's advisable to consult guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Given the humid winters, some routes are cleaned of moss in the spring, so please contribute when you can (while ensuring no harm comes to protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, meaning that while some older areas may have bolted cracks, modern crags always allow for trad climbing.
Generally, most local climbers are open about sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in certain specific areas.
