The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, with the majority of bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. However, always remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and consult the guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Given the high humidity during winters, there is also a focus on removing moss from certain routes in spring, so please contribute when you can (without harming any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, modern crags consistently offer opportunities for trad climbing.
Generally, most local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in specific regions.
