The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensure the safety of coastal climbing, with most of the bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. Nevertheless, always remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and consult the guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Due to the humid winters, some attention is also given to removing moss from certain routes in the spring, so please contribute when you can (without harming any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, there is always space for trad climbing in the more modern crags.
Overall, most local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in certain specific areas.
