The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, with most of the bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. However, it is crucial to remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and it is advisable to consult the guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Due to the humid winters, some attention is also given to removing moss from certain routes in the spring, so please contribute when you can (while ensuring no harm comes to any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may have bolted cracks, modern crags always accommodate trad climbing.
Overall, the majority of local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in specific areas.
