Gouva occupies the site of a former quarry.
The crag was discovered by Dimitris Karagiannis who, together with Zdenek Florian and Dimitris Sotirakis, developed routes 1–12 as top-rope climbs and organized the area.
In 1990, Dimitris Titopoulos and Paul Bailey added routes 13 and 14, also established as top-rope climbs.
In December 2010, Nikos Alexiou bolted the route Exodos Kindinou and in February 2026 he rebolted the route.
In October 2017, Dimitris Titopoulos, in collaboration with EOS Ilioupolis, re-equipped all the former top-rope routes for lead climbing.
