Access Issues
The areas located to the west of Sant Joan are subject to a climbing prohibition from 31 December to 1 July. Additionally, it is permitted to bolt new routes provided that the Park is informed in advance. Certain sections of the cliff are permanently off-limits for bird protection, particularly between L'Escletxa and el Trinquet; signs mark the precise limits.
Approach
From Cornudella, head north towards Albarca. Go through the village and park your vehicle just past the last houses where the track diverges. Ascend the footpath (marked to Mare de Deu) and adhere to the signs (approximately 50 minutes). At the col, look for the rocks to your left above and continue along the path. The guidebook by Buxó and Alfonso recommends driving up the road at the col (10 minutes, decent road, partially paved). However, the signs indicate that this is not allowed; the road is occasionally even blocked with a liftgate.
