Access Issues

🦅Check the "[Ptaki w skałach](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1F0Bm--VpEuWTDeAzXlEAUu2ZU8ttRgAYziVMYegaBLA)" spreadsheet for routes with nesting birds. If you find a new nest it is best to put a stick or hang a waterproof [card](https://wspinanie.pl/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/ptakiA5_zbiorczy_6.pdf) into the first bolt and notify "[Nasze Skały](https://www.facebook.com/NaszeSkaly)" on facebook. If this is not possible, please add a warning on thecrag and comment that Nasze Skały are not notified.

Ethic

There are no set-in-stone ethics for the Beskid Mountains and Carpathian Foothills region, but there are guidelines everyone should follow to minimize the impact. * Never climb on wet or even damp sandstone. You have to wait for 1-3 full days after rain as the rock is brittle when wet. Air moisture and shade may significantly lengthen the time of drying. * Use chalk reasonably and remove it when possible. Leftover chalk worsens the aesthetics, reduces friction when too much is built up, and sometimes irreversably changes the mineral structure of the rock. * Avoid overbrushing. Only use brushes with soft bristles and do not press too hard. * It is better to use UFOs and knots (textile protection) instead of metal gear when trad climbing, although no rule has been established due to trad being unpopular. * Do not create artificial holds. Chipping used to be common in some quarries and even natural crags, but is now frowned upon. * Avoid climbing in areas where it is explicitly forbidden (all national parks, most nature reserves, some natural monuments). Unfortunately, all of the rules stated above are broken regularly, often times by experienced local climbers.
