The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, with the majority of bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. However, always remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and consult guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Due to the high humidity during winters, some routes are cleaned of moss in the spring, so please contribute when you can (while ensuring no harm comes to protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, modern crags consistently offer opportunities for trad climbing.
Overall, most local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in certain specific areas.
