Popular beginner spot. Warm already in spring!

Description

Björnen is a popular area made up of two crags with most routes in the 3-5 range. The lower crag faces west and is one of few spots at Kullaberg offering evening sun.

Access Issues

Some parts of Kullaberg are off limits at the beginning of the season due to mating birds. Generally, the following crags are **closed from March 1st to July 15th each year**: - [Valdemarsgrottan](5302987155) - All the crags in the [Söftingsgrottan area](5314495692) - [Blå mal](587505612) - [Ribarns Torn](587507358) - [Visitgrottan](5336878533) - [Flyverväggarna](5365310454) Besides those, **more crags might be temporarily closed**. Check the [**Swedish access database**](https://access.klatterforbundet.se/kullaberg/) before planning your trip.

Approach

From the big parking by Kullens fyr, walk along the trail that crosses the field behind the tent site. After the footbridge, close the gate behind you hand keep left downhill and then back uphill directly again to the left along the red trail. At the top of the hill you can either make your way off the trail down south through the pine bushes or aim high towards the sea until you find an eye-catching tree in a glen. From there, make your way out on the cliff and find yourself on the top of Bananväggen, from which you can scramble down to the base.
