Description
Bucura III is a small granite wall in the Bucura cirque, Retezat Mountains, located close to the larger Bucura II NE wall. Despite its modest size, it offers a few varied routes (crack, face, ridge, alpine gully route).
Approach
From Bucura Lake, follow the blue trail markers to Curmătura Bucurei (Bucura Saddle). From there, descend about 150–200 m, then traverse left toward the large wall visible ahead (Bucura II NE). Along the way, you'll pass beneath Bucura III.
Descent Notes
From the route/summit, head left toward Curmătura Bucurei, then follow the same trail used on the approach back down to Bucura Lake. Descent time: approximately 1 hour.
