Access Issues
To park in front of the cliffs you have to pay a ticket of around €9 to enter. If it's after about 5, probably because the crags are in the shade, maybe you don't pay at all. You can park outside to pay less or on the cliff to pay nothing. When the establishment closes in Autumn and Winter the car park may be closed but you can still enter on foot.
Some sector are closed and forbidden to climb since they are just above the sewage treatment plant.
Climbing is prohibited from the Duino cliff park in the first 6 months of the year.
Approach
Access is easy via the car park, or from above via the Sentiero Rilke (Rilke Trail) below the Ristobar Rilke by abseiling.
Descent Notes
Jump into the water, or – for the high top-outs – set up a rope to abseil down into the angular cove to the left of the wall. Alternatively, you can climb up to the Sentiero Rilke.
History
So far, all that is known is that the classic route ‘Occhio del Diavolo’ was climbed before 2009.
