The route developers have dedicated significant effort to ensuring the safety of coastal climbing, with most of the bolts on seaside cliffs being glue-in inox anchors or inox bolts. However, it is crucial to remain vigilant as coastal climbing can be particularly hazardous, and it is advisable to consult guidebooks for re-bolting dates. Due to the high humidity during winters, some cleaning of moss from routes is undertaken in spring, so please contribute when possible (while being mindful of any protected species).
A clean climbing movement is gaining traction, so while some older areas may feature bolted cracks, modern crags always have space for trad climbing.
Overall, the majority of local climbers are generous in sharing their new developments and are welcoming to visitors, with only a few anecdotal exceptions in certain specific areas.
